Water sustains life- the natural resource essential for all other resources to flourish, especially for livestock and agriculture within Kajiado. And yet its sustainability is threatened by prevalent issues such as droughts, degraded landscapes, and unsustainable grazing practices. A priority for KCNRN is for the county’s populace to have access to water for farming, livestock, and wildlife and clean drinking water for years to come while building resilience to drought.
KCNRN commits to bringing together private, public, government, and civil society stakeholders to discuss water management and jointly devise strategies and proposals to help improve water resources management and improve the quality of land within Kajiado County. This is done through rainwater harvesting, conservation agriculture, and drip irrigation.
